Storronden, Mountain summit in Rondane National Park, Norway.

Storronden is a mountain peak in Rondane National Park in Innlandet county with an elevation of 2,138 meters. It ranks as the second-highest summit among the approximately 170 peaks found throughout this protected area.

The name comes from Old Norse roots, where 'stor' means large and 'rond' references the shape of the nearby Rondvatnet lake. This naming reflects how the landscape features shaped local language and geography over centuries.

The peak draws hikers and mountaineers throughout the year, who view it as a centerpiece of their outdoor pursuits. Local people consider these mountains fundamental to their identity and their way of life in this region.

Most hikers begin their journey from the town of Otta, located roughly 20 kilometers to the southwest, where supplies and local information are available. Weather conditions change quickly at higher elevations, so it is wise to check forecasts and prepare appropriate gear before setting out.

The peak has a prominence of 388 meters and sits relatively close to Rondslottet, the slightly higher neighboring summit. These two peaks together create a striking arrangement of elevations in this part of the park.
