Mexico

Mexico is a municipality in Pampanga province on the Philippines, divided into 43 barangays spread across the land. Agriculture forms the backbone of the community, with extensive fields devoted to rice and corn cultivation.

The municipality was founded in 1581 by Spanish colonizers who arrived by boat from the south. This early settlement established what would later become an important farming region.

The town gathers each May for festivities honoring Saint Monica, with processions and celebrations that fill the streets. On Good Friday, residents perform traditional reenactments of Christ's passion, which are deeply meaningful to the community.

The area is dominated by farmland, so roads and paths are oriented around agricultural movement and access. Visitors should be prepared for rural conditions, especially during the rainy season when roads may become difficult to navigate.

The municipality operates a tertiary-level hospital with five operating rooms, which is unusual for a rural area and provides advanced medical care. This medical infrastructure makes it an important health hub for surrounding communities.
