Chocolate Hills, National Geological Monument in Bohol, Philippines
The landscape includes 1,260 symmetrical hills covered in grass, spread across 50 square kilometers with heights ranging from 30 to 120 meters.
The limestone formations emerged through weathering processes over thousands of years, resulting from the uplift of coral deposits and erosion patterns.
Filipino legends tell stories of two giants who threw rocks and soil at each other, creating the cone-shaped hills that characterize the region.
Visitors can reach the hills by taking a bus from Tagbilaran to Carmen town, followed by a 10-minute walk to the observation deck.
During the dry season between February and July, the grass covering the hills turns brown, creating formations that resemble chocolate drops.
