Candon Church

Candon Church is a Catholic parish church located in Candon City on the island of Luzon, featuring a distinctive four-story octagonal bell tower. The tower displays alternating patterns of open and closed window openings, with a functional campanile for ringing bells.

Augustinian friars founded the original church at this location in 1591, and Father Pedro Bravo later began construction on a new structure in 1695. The rebuilding during the Baroque period shaped the appearance of the structure seen today.

,The church houses two large canvas paintings that display the 20 Mysteries of the Holy Rosary, created by Father Vincente Avila and his companions. These works show important moments in Christian tradition and remain central to how visitors experience the interior space.

The building displays Earthquake Baroque architecture with special design elements developed to withstand seismic activity in the region. This construction style allowed the structure to survive natural disasters that destroyed many neighboring buildings.
