SM City North EDSA, Shopping center in Quezon City, Philippines
This large shopping complex spans over 5.4 million square feet (498,000 square meters) and contains multiple interconnected buildings offering retail stores, dining establishments, cinemas, and recreational facilities for visitors throughout Metro Manila.
The mall opened on November 8, 1985, as the first SM Supermall in the Philippines and was built on a 40-acre (16-hectare) marshland that had originally been designated for the National Exposition Grounds according to the 1941 Frost Plan for Quezon City.
The complex serves as a major social gathering place for families and communities, hosting seasonal celebrations, concerts, and cultural events at venues such as the Sky Dome, which strengthens its role as a community hub in northern Metro Manila.
The mall operates daily from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM and is accessible via the North Avenue MRT station, buses, jeepneys, taxis, and ride-hailing services, with over 10,000 parking spaces available for visitors arriving by private vehicle.
The shopping center once held the distinction of being the world's largest solar-powered mall after installing more than 5,700 solar panels on its structures in the early 2010s as part of environmental sustainability efforts.
