Saint Catherine of Alexandria Cathedral

Saint Catherine of Alexandria Cathedral is a religious building featuring Neoclassical and Gothic design elements, marked by four stone pillars at the entrance and evangelist statues. The structure displays typical church architecture with high interior spaces and decorated altar furnishings.

This cathedral began construction in 1754 and took more than 20 years to complete, making it the oldest stone church on Negros island. The bell tower originally functioned as a defensive lookout against sea raids.

The interior displays statues of Saint Peter and Saint Paul alongside stained glass windows showing biblical moments. These details reflect the spiritual traditions that have shaped the community over centuries.
