Ranikot Fort is a sprawling fortification in the Kirthar Mountains in Jamshoro District. Stone walls stretch over 32 kilometers and enclose several entry gates and towers along the entire perimeter.
The Talpur dynasty carried out major construction work around 1801 and transformed the fortress into a military outpost. The family controlled the site until 1843, when British colonial rule began in the region.

Visitors reach the fortress with a 30-kilometer drive from Sann town through desert terrain. Morning hours offer better light for photographs and more comfortable temperatures for exploring.
Four smaller fortresses stand within the main walls: Miri Fort, Sher Garh, Mohan Fort, and Mehran Fort. Each of these structures served its own purpose in the larger defense network.
