Jehangir Kothari Parade, Pedestrian promenade in Clifton Beach, Pakistan
Jehangir Kothari Parade is a waterfront promenade along the Arabian Sea in Clifton Block 3, Karachi, Pakistan. It features an elevated sandstone walkway, a domed pavilion structure, and a park with paved paths that follow the coastline.
The land was donated to the city of Karachi in 1919 by a wealthy local patron and developed as a public promenade. It was one of the early urban projects built along the seafront during the British colonial period.
The promenade is popular with families and young people who gather here in the late afternoon and evening to walk along the water. Street food vendors and small stalls set up along the path, giving the place a social energy that picks up as the sun goes down.
The sandstone walkway is wide and even, making it easy to walk along even with a stroller or wheelchair. Evenings tend to draw more visitors, so those who prefer a quieter visit may want to come in the morning.
The domed pavilion was not originally built as a viewing platform but as a venue for open-air events, and it is still used today for car exhibitions and art displays. This makes it one of the few promenades in the region that doubles as an informal exhibition space.
