Jilani Park, Public park in Lahore, Pakistan
Jilani Park is a recreational space in Lahore with roughly 88 acres of lawns, fountains, and flower gardens positioned along Jail Road across from Services Hospital. The grounds contain walking paths, exercise stations, children's play areas, and restroom facilities that serve daily visitors.
The site began as a horse racing venue before being converted into a public recreation space. The transformation took place under Governor Ghulam Jilani Khan of Punjab, whose name the park now bears.
The space functions as a neighborhood gathering place where locals spend leisure time together, especially during weekends and celebrations. The manicured lawns and water features create a setting where families converge and community events take place.
The park is easily accessible on foot and has multiple entrances along Jail Road providing access to different areas. Visitors should arrive in early morning or late afternoon when temperatures are more pleasant and crowds are lighter.
The central lake sits surrounded by geometric flower arrangements that reflect traditional Islamic garden design. These symmetrical layouts are striking to observe and demonstrate the mathematical principles found in classical Persian and Islamic gardens.
