Polish Aviation Museum, Aviation museum in Rakowice-Czyżyny district, Kraków, Poland
The Polish Aviation Museum exhibits over 380 aircraft, gliders, helicopters, engines, and rocket sets across its expansive grounds of a former military airport.
The museum opened in 1964, incorporating German aviation collections from 1945 and establishing itself at one of the world's oldest military airfields from 1912.
The museum's library contains more than 30,000 publications dedicated to aviation history and organizes conferences focused on aeronautical developments and museum studies.
Located at the former Rakowice-Czyżyny airfield, the museum welcomes visitors from Tuesday through Sunday between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM throughout the year.
The museum's main exhibition building, opened in 2010, follows a hexagonal design inspired by 1923 French airport architectural concepts for combined military and civil functions.
