Polish Pilots Park in Kraków, Urban park in Czyżyny district, Kraków, Poland

Polish Pilots Park is a large green area in the Czyżyny district of Kraków, where open meadows in the south give way to dense forest in the north. Paths for cycling and running cross the grounds, and there are sports fields along with a modern play area for children.

The site once held Fort XV Pszorna, built in the 1860s to protect key communication routes on the edge of the city. After the fortress was demolished in the early 1950s, the land was gradually turned into the park that exists today.

A monument to Polish pilots who died in World War II stands at the center of the park, honoring these fallen aviators. Visitors use this space to connect with an important chapter of aviation history.

The park has several entry points around the Czyżyny district, making it easy to approach from different directions. Because the grounds are very large, sturdy footwear is a good idea, especially if you plan to walk the forested paths in the northern part.

Within the park, the Stanisław Lem Garden of Experiences offers outdoor interactive installations that let visitors explore scientific principles through hands-on experiments. The garden takes its name from the famous Polish science fiction writer who lived and worked in Kraków.
