Giżycko County is an administrative region in Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship situated between two major lakes. It comprises several urban and rural municipalities linked by a landscape of waterways.
The territory received its current administrative structure in 1999 during Poland's local government reforms. This change made Giżycko the administrative center of the newly formed county.
