Piła County, Administrative district in Greater Poland Voivodeship, Poland.
Piła County is an administrative district in west-central Poland comprising nine municipalities, with the city of Piła serving as the regional center. The area includes smaller towns and rural settlements connected by road networks that link communities throughout the territory.
The county was established in 1999 during Poland's major local government reforms following the transition from communist rule. This reorganization created the administrative structure that has remained in place since then.
The region maintains strong ties to Greater Poland traditions, visible in local festivals and craft practices throughout its municipalities. Visitors can experience folk music performances and see traditional skills that have passed down through families and communities.
The territory is well connected by roads to other regions, particularly to the city of Poznań about 85 kilometers to the south. Regular bus services operate between the municipalities, linking the various communities together.
Although the district took its current form only a few decades ago, each of the nine municipalities operates with independent administrative buildings. This decentralized structure allows each community to manage its own local matters while coordinating regional efforts.
