Stara Wieś

Stara Wieś is a farming village in the Subcarpathian region, situated on rolling terrain in southeastern Poland. The settlement provides local shops, a post office, and educational facilities for its residents.

The village was founded in the 14th century when authorization was granted to establish a settlement in the local forest. The baroque basilica was built in 1730, marking a significant phase in the place's development.

The Basilica of the Assumption of the Most Holy Virgin shapes the religious life and appearance of this place since its construction. It reflects the settlement's strong connection to monastic communities and their influence on local identity.

The village is easiest to visit during warmer months when roads and the hilly terrain are more accessible. Visitors should expect basic local shops and services, as larger retail centers or specialized facilities are not available on-site.

A former Pauline monastery complex was later taken over by the Society of Jesus and still houses an active seminary for priestly formation. This shows how religious institutions at this location have shifted and evolved across centuries.
