Żyrardów County is an administrative district in Masovian Voivodeship with two main cities: Żyrardów and Mszczonów. The district comprises five gminas that combine urban centers with rural settlements and forested regions.
The district took its current administrative form in 1999 following a major Polish government reform. This reorganization established the regional boundaries that remain today.
