Pier in Sopot, Wooden pier in Sopot, Poland

Pier in Sopot is a wooden structure extending over five hundred meters into the waters of Gdańsk Bay. The construction features a continuous timber walkway with several observation decks positioned along its length.

The first landing stage appeared here in the early 19th century and underwent several extensions over the following decades. The present length was achieved in the early 20th century.

The structure is known locally as Molo and represents the town's connection to the open sea. It serves as a meeting point and a place where locals walk in all seasons.

An entrance fee applies during the summer season, and the structure connects to a waterfront promenade with shops and eateries nearby. Access is available at both ends, with the farthest point reaching well into the bay.

The concentration of iodine in the air at the outer end measures twice as high as at the shore. This property made the location especially appealing for health visitors.
