Dom Zdrojowy, Spa house in Sopot, Poland
Dom Zdrojowy is a spa building located opposite the pier in Sopot, extending across a substantial footprint. The facility functions as an integrated complex that combines a spa center, conference areas, restaurants, a shopping arcade, and underground parking.
The first Dom Zdrojowy was built in 1824 and underwent several reconstructions until 1910, when architect Carl Weber designed its third iteration. After being destroyed by fire in 1945, the structure remained unreconstructed for decades before rebuilding began in 2006 and concluded in 2009.
The building houses the National Art Gallery spread across three levels, with rotating exhibitions of Polish and international art on display. The gallery draws both locals and visitors interested in contemporary and historical artistic expressions.
The building features multiple levels with stairs and elevators providing access to all areas, including a dedicated lift to the mineral water drinking section. Visitors should note that different areas may have varying operating hours and the underground parking facilitates access.
The structure includes a dedicated mineral water fountain where visitors can drink naturally sourced water from underground springs. This access to mineral-rich water represents an original feature of the spa facility that remains in use today.
