Located 6 kilometers north of Gorlice, Zagórzany extends along the banks of Moszczanka stream at 263 meters above sea level.
The village, first documented in 1319, belonged to the Benedictine monastery of Tyniec until Austrian authorities transferred it to the Wielopolski family.
The neo-Gothic manor, constructed between 1834 and 1839 by Tadeusz Skrzyński, functioned as an educational institution for young women from noble families.
The village maintains a population of 2,347 residents, with 195 registered businesses operating within its administrative boundaries in 2023.
The monumental Skrzyński family mausoleum, designed by architect Marian Teodor Talowski, stands near the ruins of the nineteenth-century manor house.
