Zagórzany, powiat gorlicki

Zagórzany is a small rural settlement in southern Lesser Poland that sits in rolling countryside beside a stream. The village spreads across land about 6 kilometers north of Gorlice at a moderate elevation surrounded by green farmland.

The village was first recorded in 1319 and originally belonged to the Benedictine monastery at Tyniec. Later, Austrian rule brought changes that eventually led to the Wielopolski family taking control of the area.

The manor was built in the first half of the 1800s for the Skrzyński family and served as a school for daughters of noble families. This landmark still shapes how the village appears and shows how powerful landowners influenced rural life in this area.

The village can be reached easily by local roads and works well for quiet walks through the surrounding countryside. Visitors will find the everyday pace of a small Polish rural community without heavy tourist crowds.

The village is home to a monumental mausoleum designed by architect Marian Teodor Talowski for the Skrzyński family. This grand burial structure stands in rural surroundings and creates a striking contrast to the simple farmhouses nearby.
