Jaśliska Landscape Park, Protected natural area in Krosno County, Poland.
Jaśliska Landscape Park is a protected natural area in the eastern section of the Beskid Niski mountains, spanning forests, meadows, and pastures. The park encompasses diverse habitats that form a varied mosaic of different ecosystems and natural landscapes.
The protected area was established through Order No. 64/99 of the Podkarpackie Voivode in August 1999 to preserve natural landscapes in eastern Poland. This decision reflected broader efforts to safeguard the ecological diversity of the region.
The territory holds traces of Lemko villages with old cemeteries and abandoned Orthodox church sites, left empty during Operation Vistula in the 1940s. These places tell quiet stories of people who once lived here, and their presence remains visible in the landscape today.
Visitors can reach the park management office in Dukla for information about trails and conservation programs. It is helpful to inquire in advance about weather conditions and trail accessibility before planning a visit.
The park includes the Źródliska Jasiołki reserve, which protects one of the most important peatland systems in the Beskid Niski mountains. This wetland has become a place where specialist researchers and nature-minded visitors gain valuable insights into rare bog ecosystems.
