Sielpia Wielka, Rural village in Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship, Poland
Sielpia Wielka is a village in Gmina Końskie, in the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship of south-central Poland. It sits in a forested area next to an artificial reservoir formed by a dam on the Czarna Konecka river.
The settlement grew around ironworks that operated in the Świętokrzyskie region from the 17th century onward, and the reservoir was created in the 19th century to power those forges. When industry faded, the site gradually shifted toward recreation.
Sielpia Wielka is known today mainly as a leisure spot visited by people from nearby towns, especially in summer. The reservoir draws swimmers, anglers, and families who come for the water and the surrounding forest.
The village is reached by regional roads from Końskie, which is the nearest town with good transport links. In summer, it is worth arriving early as the area around the reservoir gets busy with day visitors.
An old waterwheel from the ironworks era still stands at the site and is preserved as a technical monument. It is one of the few visible reminders that this quiet forest spot was once part of a working industrial complex.
