PTTK's mountain hut in Bereśnik, Mountain hut in Beskid Sądecki, Poland.
PTTK's mountain hut in Bereśnik sits at 843 meters elevation on the southern slope of Bereśnik peak within the Pasmo Radziejowej range. The building accommodates around 40 guests across seven rooms, includes a kitchen, and features a separate camping area for outdoor stays.
The shelter originated in 1989 when a historic shepherd's hut was converted into modern lodging. The project was led by Edward Moskała and the Pieniński Branch of PTTK in Szczawnica.
The name Bereśnik comes from Rusyn language, referring to birch trees that once grew on these mountain slopes. The shelter serves as a gathering point for hikers exploring the traditional mountain way of life in this region.
The route to the hut is well marked and accessible from several hiking trails, with walking time typically around two to three hours. Visitors should know that weather at higher elevations changes quickly, making proper equipment essential.
From the hut windows, visitors look out at the Małe Pieniny mountains, the Slovak Wiaterne Wierchy range, and the Tatra mountains along the horizon. This view combines three different mountain landscapes within a single perspective.
