Hotel Polonez in Poznań, University dormitory in Stare Miasto district, Poznań, Poland.

Hotel Polonez is a 14-story concrete building on Niepodległości Avenue in central Poznań. It rises approximately 55 meters and features modernist design with about 400 rooms spread across twelve residential floors in a total usable area of around 22000 square meters.

The building was constructed between 1972 and 1974 as Hotel Polonez to house visitors attending the Poznań International Fair. This practical origin as accommodation reflects the city's need to serve international guests during that period.

The building became a recording location for the band Budka Suflera during the 1980s, marking its place in local music history. This connection shows how the space has held meaning beyond its original purpose as a place to sleep.

The building is conveniently located in the city center and accessible by foot or public transport. Keep in mind that this is an active residential space for students, so visitors should be respectful of the people living there.

The building stands as one of Poland's first hotels built using modified prefabricated elements taken from residential block designs. This unusual construction approach shows how architects found creative ways to quickly build new accommodation in the 1970s.
