Rezerwat przyrody Luboń Wielki

Luboń Wielki Nature Reserve is a protected area in the Beskid Wyspowy Mountains covering about 35 hectares on the southern slopes of Mount Luboń Wielki. The terrain features steep hillsides, large rock outcrops, and forest cover that characterize the entire site.

The area received protection in 1970 to preserve its geological formations and forest habitats. It was later expanded to cover a larger territory and safeguard its distinctive features.

The reserve draws mountain hikers and nature lovers who come to walk through this rugged landscape and experience its dramatic terrain. It serves as a destination where visitors connect with the wilderness and appreciate the raw beauty of the rocky slopes.

Hikers should follow marked trails from nearby towns to reach the mountain and its formations. The paths can be steep and rocky, so sturdy footwear and careful footing are important.

The reserve contains a number of caves embedded within the rock formations throughout the site. The largest cave maintains a special microclimate that allows bats to survive the winter months there.
