Rezerwat przyrody Mogielica

Mogielica Nature Reserve is a mountain area in the Lesser Poland Beskids with forests, meadows, and marked hiking routes. The landscape includes elevations up to around 1170 meters with diverse habitats open for walking exploration.

The area received protected status during the 20th century, while the mountain slopes served as refuge for armed groups during World War II. This period left marks in the place's local history.

The mountain carries local stories and place names from the region's folk tradition that visitors encounter while walking through the reserve.

Hiking typically starts from the Rydz-Śmigły Pass, where several routes of different lengths are available. Sturdy footwear is advisable, and be prepared for weather changes since mountain elevation affects temperature and wind conditions.

A recent observation tower offers views of multiple mountain ranges in the region, making the surrounding topography easier to understand. From this vantage point, visitors can see the geographical relationship between different mountain areas that would otherwise remain unclear.
