Dębowiec Hostel, Mountain hut in Silesian Voivodeship, Poland
Dębowiec Hostel is a mountain hut in the Silesian Beskids situated at about 527 meters elevation with views over Bielsko-Biała and the surrounding peaks. Today it operates primarily as a restaurant serving traditional Polish food and sits near several marked hiking routes.
The building started as a restaurant called Baumgärtel in 1895 and later became a mountain shelter. After World War II it served the Polish Scouting Association for many years.
The hostel serves as a gathering place for hikers exploring the local trail network. People stop here to rest and take in views of the peaks and valleys around them.
The location is best reached on foot using the marked hiking trails that approach from several directions. Wearing comfortable hiking shoes and checking mountain weather conditions are good ideas before your visit.
A large stone called Kamień Seniora at this site marks where Pastor Józef Schimko died in 1858. The stone stands today as a quiet memorial in this mountain location.
