Schronisko pod Durbaszką, Mountain refuge in Small Pieniny Mountains, Poland.
Schronisko pod Durbaszką is a mountain hut located at 850 meters (2,800 feet) on the northern slope of Durbaszka in the Small Pieniny Mountains. It provides 50 beds in multiple rooms with shared bathrooms in the corridors and offers meals year-round.
The building began as a shepherd's hut for sheep grazing between 1949 and 1952. The Polish Scouting Association acquired and transformed it into a tourist facility in 1973.
The shelter serves educational groups and school programs as its main purpose, shaping how the space is organized and used. Young visitors dominate the guest experience, giving the place a learning-focused atmosphere.
The hut sits on an open meadow below the main ridge and connects to several marked hiking trails from nearby villages. Visitors should expect basic facilities and simple accommodations since the place is geared toward group visits.
The shelter sits on a meadow with views toward the Beskid Sądecki mountain range, placing it on one of the region's quieter walking routes. This location offers hikers a different perspective on the mountains compared to the busier tourist paths.
