Reservoir in Stara Morawa
The Reservoir in Stara Morawa is an artificial lake set in a hilly, forested part of southwestern Poland. Its shoreline has a sandy beach, a pier, a viewing tower, and walking paths that go around the entire basin.
The reservoir was built to give the surrounding area a place for water-based recreation and was originally intended for water supply. From 2007, the site went through a major renovation that turned it into the main leisure destination in the area.
The reservoir is a popular gathering spot for locals, especially in summer, when people walk along the shore or sit on the pier. The viewing tower on the bank draws visitors who want to look out over the forested hills nearby.
The site has parking and is easy to reach on foot from the village center. In summer, lifeguards are present at the beach, and accommodation, food, and restrooms are available on-site.
This reservoir sits at one of the highest points among Poland's artificial lakes, which means the view from the shore reaches farther than at most similar spots in the country. Even from the water's edge, the surrounding terrain looks different from what you would expect at a typical lowland lake.
