Śluza Guzianka I

The Guzianka I lock structure extends 44 meters in length and 7.5 meters in width, managing a water level difference of 2 meters between lakes.

Built in 1879 as a wooden chamber, the lock received substantial upgrades in 1899 with the addition of brick walls and electric operating mechanisms.

The lock represents a central point in the Great Masurian Lakes system, connecting Lake Mikołajskie to Lake Nidzkie through established waterways.

The facility processes approximately 20,000 vessels annually, operating with modernized gates and communication walkways following recent renovation works completed in 2023.

During the renovation period of Guzianka I, maritime traffic continued through the adjacent Guzianka II lock, maintaining uninterrupted water transport in the region.
