Wrocław Market Hall No II, Market hall on Kolejowa Street in Wrocław, Poland
Wrocław Market Hall No II was a two-story building showcasing a blend of neo-gothic and modernist elements that rose about 21 meters high. The structure used concrete construction and provided space for numerous trading activities under one roof.
The building was designed in 1906 by architects Richard Plüddemann and Heinrich Küster and served as a central trading location in the early city. It suffered severe damage in 1945 during World War II and was subsequently demolished in 1973.
The building drew merchants and buyers who conducted daily business and exchanged local products within its walls. Stone carvings depicting ducks and hens reflected the connection to the city's trading life.
The location on Kolejowa Street was easily accessible for buyers and sellers, allowing efficient distribution of trading activities. Visitors could explore the building to view the structure and details of its neo-gothic and modern design elements.
During World War I, the hall was converted into a military supply warehouse. Later it served as a film location for the 1967 movie 'The Killer Leaves a Trace'.
