Mieczysław Pinkus i Jakuba Lende's tenement house

The Mieczysław Pinkus and Jakuba Lende tenement house is a classical residential building with symmetrical proportions and refined architectural details located at the corner of Aleja Kościuszki and Zielona Street in Łódź. The building remains fully operational as housing while preserving its original nineteenth-century structure throughout.

The building was designed and constructed in 1896 by architect David Lande during a period when Łódź was rapidly becoming a major industrial center. Its construction coincided with a time of significant urban growth when many new residential buildings were rising for prosperous residents.

The building carries the names of two owners and reflects how prosperous residents lived in tenement houses during the late 1800s. Walking past it today, you notice the classical facade that shows the scale and style of middle-class housing in this neighborhood.
