Holy Trinity Church

Holy Trinity Church is a brick structure built in Gothic style with tall pale walls and a separate sturdy bell tower. The entire floor is paved with tombstones, which gives the interior a distinctive character.

Franciscan monks started construction around 1420 and completed the building over several decades as the city expanded. It became a center of religious life and shaped the development of the surrounding area.

The church served as a gathering place for townspeople and important civic meetings throughout its long history. Today, preserved furnishings like the Renaissance pulpit reflect how local artisans expressed skill and belief through their work.

The church is situated in central Gdańsk and is easily reached on foot from other major sites. Access is straightforward and the interior is open to visitors who can explore the building without restrictions.

Among the tombstones lies the final resting place of a nobleman whose bequest enabled the founding of an important city library. This quiet memorial preserves the memory of someone who shaped intellectual life in the city.
