Macelak, Mountain summit in Pieniny National Park, Poland.
Macelak is a summit in the Pieniny Carpathians that rises to 857 meters above sea level. Dense forest covers the eastern slopes, and the peak sits within the boundaries of the protected national park.
The peak served as a natural boundary between different administrative regions of Lesser Poland from medieval times onward. This role as a border landmark shaped its importance throughout the centuries.
The summit forms part of the extended Tarnów-Wielki Rogacz trail system, which connects multiple peaks across the Pieniny mountain range.
The summit is accessible via the marked T1 hiking trail that runs through the Pieniny range. Visitors will find lodging and supplies available in the nearby villages surrounding the area.
From the summit, visitors can see over 60 other peaks within the national park on clear days. This wide panorama makes it a favorite viewpoint for those wanting to take in the entire Pieniny massif.
