Muzeum Dyplomacji i Uchodźstwa Polskiego

The Muzeum Dyplomacji i Uchodźstwa Polskiego is a museum in Bydgoszcz dedicated to the history of Polish diplomacy and emigration after 1945. The exhibition displays documents, photographs, correspondence, and manuscripts that document this important period of Polish history.

The museum was founded in June 1999 after Wanda Poznańska donated diplomatic archives from her late husband, the last Polish consul in London. These collections became the foundation for the institution's focus on Poland's foreign representation.

The collection features military uniforms, medals, banners, and insignia representing Poland's diplomatic service across different periods. These objects tell the story of individuals who served the nation abroad.

The museum is housed within Kazimierz Wielki University and opens Monday through Friday with free admission. Visits require no advance booking and the spaces are easily accessible.

The museum preserves a specialized soundproof cabin from the Polish Consulate in Cologne, the only known example of this diplomatic security device in private hands. This cabin was essential for protecting confidential conversations in foreign offices.
