Ogród Bajek w Międzygórzu

Ogród Bajek in Międzygórzu is a garden featuring wooden sculptures and miniature houses on a steep slope at about 780 meters elevation, nestled between two mountain peaks. A winding path guides visitors through the site, making use of the natural terrain to create a storybook setting.

A forest ranger named Izydor Kriesten established this garden after World War I, creating fairy tale figures from natural materials such as tree roots, pine cones, and bark. His craftsmanship laid the foundation for this unusual mountain attraction.

The garden displays figures from Polish folk tales such as the Wawel Dragon and Koziołek Matołek, woven into the mountain setting. These hand-carved characters tell stories rooted in local tradition.

The garden is accessible on most days and easiest to reach by a marked hiking trail running through the mountain region. Wear sturdy footwear since the terrain is steep and the path can be uneven in places.

The garden contains a miniature replica of the stone observation tower from Śnieżnik mountain peak, a detail many visitors overlook, creating a connection to a nearby famous summit. This scaled-down model shows the maker's careful attention to details found in the surrounding landscape.
