Lubomirski Museum, National museum institution in Wrocław, Poland.
The Lubomirski Museum is an art museum in Wroclaw that displays paintings, drawings, coins, and historical documents. The collections are currently housed in the Ossolineum building, and a new exhibition space is under construction.
The museum was founded in 1823 when two Polish aristocrats agreed to combine their art collections. After World War II, it was moved from Lviv to Wroclaw, where it has been located for many decades.
The collection displays Polish artworks and historical items you can see as you walk through the exhibition spaces. These objects tell the story of how Polish identity developed and changed over the centuries.
The museum is currently housed in the Ossolineum building, which is centrally located and easy to reach in the city. A new location will open and make more collections accessible once construction is complete.
Among the older collections are rare hand drawings and works that came from the original institution in Lviv. These pieces offer glimpses into artistic traditions from a different time and place.
