Orla Baszta, Mountain peak in Tatra Mountains, Poland.
Adlerbastei is a mountain peak in the High Tatras that rises to about 2176 meters above sea level. The summit features steep rock faces that drop steeply into both Buczynowa Valley and Panszczycka Valley on either side.
The peak received its name around 1901 from Franciszek Henryk Nowicki, and climbers made the first ascent on August 26, 1902 through Janusz Chmielowski. This event established the site as a recognized destination for mountaineers.
The name Adlerbastei, meaning Eagle's Tower, comes from the peak's distinctive shape that resembles a fortified tower. Visitors often notice how this comparison captures their own impression as they approach the summit.
Reaching the summit requires high-altitude mountaineering experience and technical climbing skills along the Eagles Path. The route includes exposed sections with sheer rock walls that demand careful footing and good balance.
The rock formation at the summit creates one of the most exposed positions along the entire Eagles Path, with sheer drops on multiple sides. This exposed location makes it a spot where hikers feel the true sense of altitude and openness.
