Żółta Turnia, Mountain summit in Tatra Mountains, Poland

Żółta Turnia is a mountain peak in the High Tatras, the main range along the border between Poland and Slovakia. The summit has distinctive limestone rock and stands among many other peaks that hikers visit in this popular mountain region.

Early mountaineers began exploring this area in the late 1800s as interest in Alpine climbing spread to Eastern Europe. Since then the peak has become an established destination within the wider network of Tatra routes.

The peak draws mountaineers from across the region who value its location near other popular summits and use it as a training ground for their skills. The climbing community maintains a regular presence here as part of their connection to the Tatras.

Access is via marked hiking trails that connect to other peaks, with conditions varying by season and weather. Sturdy mountain boots, weatherproof clothing, and adequate water are essential since conditions can change rapidly in the Tatras.

The views across neighboring peaks shift dramatically depending on where you stand along the route, revealing different perspectives of the surrounding range. Many visitors find that the most revealing sightlines only become clear as they reach the higher sections of the path.
