The village formed in the 17th century from two separate settlements called Mur and Zasichle. Many of today's residents descend from these original communities and carry surnames like Lukaszczyk that still shape the local population.
The wooden church was built after World War II when locals constructed it without official permission, showing how residents expressed their faith and traditions through their own hands.
