Anders Park in Wrocław

Anders Park is a roughly 6-hectare green space featuring two playgrounds, a network of walking paths, and plantings of horse chestnut and red chestnut trees. The well-developed path system connects different areas and creates an orderly layout throughout the grounds.

The land originally held a settlement called New Village, first recorded in documents from 1346, and later functioned as a burial ground. This transformation into a park represents a significant change in how the land has been used over centuries.

This green space takes its name from General Władysław Anders, a prominent military commander who led the Polish II Corps during World War II. His legacy remains important in local memory and reflects the area's connection to important historical figures.

The park sits near Kamienna, Borowska, Ślężna, and Wieczysta streets, making it convenient to reach from surrounding residential areas. The developed path network allows visitors to move easily through the space without confusion about direction.

The path layout preserves the design of the former cemetery, with scattered tombstone fragments and remnants of old fencing still visible throughout. These traces create a layered history within the modern green space.
