Park Zielona in Dąbrowa Górnicza

Park Zielona is a large green space in Dąbrowa Górnicza filled with deciduous trees such as oaks and birches that support wildlife including finches, nuthatches, and thrushes. Paved paths, benches, and lighting throughout the grounds make it easy to walk around and explore.

This green space was created in 1932 after a road connection was built to link it with Dąbrowa Górnicza's city center. Following World War II, local residents undertook restoration efforts to maintain and rebuild the grounds.

Locals use this space as their everyday retreat for walks and quiet moments surrounded by trees and greenery. It functions as a neighborhood gathering place where people return regularly to enjoy nature and fresh air.

The park is easy to navigate on foot thanks to well-maintained paved pathways and good lighting throughout. Multiple benches offer places to rest, and visitors can choose their route based on how much time they have.

From the 1960s until 2011, this space housed a municipal zoo with brown bears, deer, foxes, and various bird species. Many visitors today are unaware of this former animal collection that once made the park famous locally.
