Palace in Konarzewo, Baroque palace in Konarzewo, Poland
The Palace in Konarzewo is a Baroque manor house in the village of Konarzewo, in the Greater Poland region of Poland. Its north-facing main facade is symmetrically arranged and topped with a coat of arms that marks the building as a noble residence.
Andrzej Aleksander Radomicki, who held the title of Castellan of Gniezno, had the palace built in the late 17th century as a family seat. It stayed in the family for generations and is now listed as an immovable monument in Poland.
The Radomicki family coat of arms carved above the main entrance is one of the first things visitors notice when approaching the building. It reflects the way Polish noble families once used architecture to display their identity and social position.
The grounds are accessible but ongoing restoration work means that some areas may be closed off at any time. It is worth checking before you visit, and sturdy footwear is a good idea as some surfaces can be uneven.
A fire in July 2023 caused serious damage to the roof and several painted interior decorations that had survived for centuries. The event pushed the pace of restoration and brought renewed attention to what original features still remain inside the building.
