Przełęcz Szklarska

Neuweltpass is a mountain pass in the Jizera Mountains that connects two valleys through a winding road carved into steep terrain. The route climbs through forested slopes and offers views of the surrounding landscape.

The area served as a trade route since medieval times, linking settlements across the mountains economically. Over time the road was expanded and improved to handle increasing traffic flow.

Local traditions include annual winter sports gatherings where residents from surrounding communities celebrate the mountain heritage through competitions and festivals.

The road is passable year-round but requires care during winter when snow and ice form. Drivers should expect many curves and drive slowly, particularly when weather conditions are poor.

The road features 13 consecutive hairpin turns concentrated in one particularly twisting section. This dense series of curves makes it one of the most challenging mountain roads in the country.
