The Summer Theatre featured a seating capacity of 1,065 visitors and operated as an open-air venue in central Warsaw's historical park.
The theatre opened its doors on July 14, 1870, under Stanisław Moniuszko's direction and continued operations until its destruction in 1939.
Throughout its existence, the Summer Theatre hosted performances by notable artists including Helena Modjeska and Pola Negri on its wooden stage.
Located within the 15.5-hectare Saxon Garden, the theatre site stands near the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and Piłsudski Square in central Warsaw.
The theatre building, designed by Onufry Waligórski, represented one of Warsaw's first dedicated summer performance spaces constructed entirely from wood.
