Kalenica

Kalenica is a steel observation tower located on a mountain near Bielawa, standing about 20 meters high. From its top, visitors can see across the Owl Mountains and the surrounding Central Sudetes landscape.

The tower was built after 2000 as part of modern tourist infrastructure development in Lower Silesia. This period marked increased focus on making the mountain regions more accessible to visitors.

The tower serves as a meeting place where people gather to watch birds and photograph the surrounding mountain landscape throughout the year. Its platforms are positioned to highlight the natural features of the region from different angles.

The tower is reachable via marked hiking trails starting from Bielawa, with rest benches placed along the way. Proper footwear and extra time for the climb are recommended, particularly in poor weather conditions.

The tower was designed with modern architectural elements that deliberately blend into the mountain setting. Many visitors discover only after spending time there how the construction details optimize viewing angles and protect from wind.
