Kielik, Mountain summit in Lesser Beskids, Poland.
Kielik is a mountain summit in the Lesser Beskids that rises to about 1100 meters and features gentle slopes with open meadows and scattered vegetation. Several hiking routes converge at this peak, connecting trails from the surrounding valleys below.
This peak lies in a region that served as borderland between Poland and Slovakia, separating the two territories across many centuries. The Lesser Beskids have long functioned as a natural crossing zone where different peoples and cultures met.
Local mountain communities maintain traditional shepherding practices in the meadows surrounding Kielik, preserving agricultural methods passed through generations.
The climb is possible year-round, but from December through March waterproof clothing and sturdy footwear are recommended as trails can become icy. Several villages in the valleys below serve as starting points for different hiking routes to the summit.
