Patria Sanatorium in Krynica-Zdrój

Patria Sanatorium is a four-story health facility with marble interiors and a revolving entrance door. The building includes balconies that overlook Góra Parkowa mountain, and it was designed to accommodate 87 guests in single and double rooms with private bathrooms.

The building was constructed between 1932 and 1934 according to designs by architect Bohdan Pniewski. It was commissioned by Polish tenor Jan Kiepura, who envisioned it as a luxury guesthouse for distinguished visitors.

The facility became a destination for artists, writers, and journalists during the 1930s who gathered here and shaped the cultural life of the resort. Guests from across Europe were drawn to its reputation as a meeting place for intellectuals and creative minds.

The building is located at Pułaskiego 35 street and provides easy street-level access to the property. The balconies accessible from the rooms offer a good vantage point for observing the surrounding landscape and mountain views.

The rooftop above the main entrance features a neon sign reading 'PATRIA', a Latin word meaning homeland. This detail is easily missed from street level but reveals the classical inspiration that influenced the building's design philosophy.
