Villa Aida in Podkowa Leśna

Villa Aida is a wooden manor house in Podkowa Leśna built on a brick foundation and featuring a Swiss-style veranda with a gabled roof. Two dragon ornaments decorate the roofline, giving the structure its distinctive appearance.

Built in 1900 by Stanisław Wilhelm Lilpop as a summer residence, the house later became home to writer and poet Jarosław Iwaszkiewicz and his wife Anna. The change in ownership marked a shift from a private retreat to a center of literary life in the region.

The villa carries the name of Iwaszkiewicz's wife, who made the house a gathering space for poets and writers during her time there. Today visitors can walk through rooms that once hosted creative conversations and artistic meetings among some of Poland's most important literary figures.

The house is located on Iwaszkiewicza Street and now operates as a museum welcoming visitors to explore its rooms and grounds. Check ahead for open hours as the space hosts various cultural events throughout the year.

The original terrace was relocated from the side of the building to face Lilpopa Street, fundamentally changing how the villa sits in relation to its surroundings. This structural shift happened as the area developed and created a completely new connection between the house and the street.
