The Church of the Jesuit College features a rectangular nave with multiple chapels and Tuscan pilasters adorning its painted exterior facades.
Construction began in 1568 when João Lopes provided wheat support for Jesuits, leading to their arrival in 1570 and subsequent college establishment.
The church houses the Sacred Art section of Carlos Machado Museum, including the painting 'The Coronation of the Virgin' by Vasco Pereira Lusitano.
Visitors can access the church Monday through Friday from 9:00 to 12:30 and 14:00 to 17:30, with weekend hours from 14:00 to 17:30.
The 1732 papal recognition by Clement XII established religious groups, resulting in installation of azulejo panels by Bartolomeu Antunes in main chapel.
