Palace of the Counts of Redondo

The Palace of the Counts of Redondo features a rectangular structure with four wings surrounding a square courtyard and two floors containing 22 windows per row.

Built in the 17th century by the Count of Redondo, the palace remained undamaged during the 1755 Lisbon earthquake and transferred to the Crown in 1686.

The palace represents Portuguese nobility architecture with its ornate stone portal, pilasters dividing seven sections, and characteristic baroque design elements throughout the structure.

The palace maintains connections to public transportation and provides access through both Santa Marta Street and Conde Redondo Street in central Lisbon.

Since the 1980s, the Palace of the Counts of Redondo has housed educational activities of the Autonomous University of Lisbon within its historical walls.
