Hotel Britania

Modernist architect Cassiano Branco designed this building in 1944 following the principles of contemporary architectural movement. It remains the only unaltered hotel from that era in Lisbon and documents a particular construction approach of those years.

The interior displays original fittings from the 1940s including cork floors, brass fixtures, and a vintage barber shop that show how Portuguese design looked during that decade. These handcrafted details remain intact and give visitors a window into daily life and comfort standards of the time.
